This graveyard is located to the east of Wingerton Road. The location was formerly a farm, but has since been turned into a housing development. The graveyard is about 25 yards east of Wingerton Road, behind the second house on the left traveling south on Wingerton Road. (Address- 14316 Wingerton Road). When I inspected the site Oct. 30, 1999, two of the three graves were lying flat, and were regularly mowed over. One grave was broken. All were still easily legible.
History:
Elias Davison (1736-1806), was the founder of the Davison family in Franklin County. He settled in the southeast section of Antrim Township about 1760. On March 19, 1771, he married Agnes McDowell (1748-1790), a daughter of Major John McDowell. Elias and Agnes Davison are both buried in this graveyard. Elias Davison's marker could not be found when we inspected the site Oct. 30, 1999.

This is what remains of the Davison Graveyard. The white marker in the foreground is that of John M. Davison (d. 1814). Agnes Davison's marker is lying flat to the right. |
