If you take the time to read below, you'll learn something about my interests, how I spend my time, and what I strive for in life. If you find value in what I share with you, please send me your comments dlmartin@genealogygoldmine.com.
I have always loved both science and history, and most of my life have juggled between these two great disciplines. In general, I produce an income through science, and maintain a very strong avocation through the study and interpretation of history.
I am a Pharmaceutical Chemist, and currently work as a product manager for Buchi Corporation.
From 1999 to 2005 I worked on method development and instrument validation projects at Lancaster Laboratories.
From 1995 to 1999, I had taught the Middle School Sciences at New Danville Mennonite School.
In 1994, I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University, with a degree in Agriculture. In 2003, I graduated from Millersville University with a degree in chemistry.
In faith and heritage, I belong to the Mennonite Church. I attend Blossom Hill Mennonite Church, Lancaster, Pa. If you would like more information on Mennonites, click here, or visit MennoLink, the internet listserve devoted to issues and discussions among Mennonites. Of Mennonite writers, I value highly the articulation of pacifist belief and practice defended by John Howard Yoder, and the Christological and missiological issues addressed by C. Norman Kraus.
I have extensively integrated my faith and heritage into my historical studies. From these studies I have produced three books, and continue to develop two informative internet sites.
Below are the three books I have written: (you may purchase any of these books through the Historic Impressions Bookstore).
A People on the Way, History of the New Holland Mennonite Church, Seventy-Five Years, 1922-1997, (New Holland, Pa.: Edgewood Printing Co., 1997), 161 pages.
This book was designed and distributed by Masthof Press.
An Alphabetical Listing of Burials and Gravestone Transcriptions of Groffdale Mennonite Church Cemetery, West Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, (Apollo, Pa.: Closson Press, 1997), 117 pages.
Visit the Historic Impressions Bookstore, where you can browse and buy the books I've written about local history.
